Safee as a Millionaire
SAFEE Sali is officially the first Malaysian millionaire
footballer after he signed an improved two-year contract extension with
Indonesian Super League (ISL) side Pelita Jaya FC in Jakarta today.
The deal which the 28-year-old inked is worth more than RM2 million and includes an extensive match bonus package, a house and a car with a personal driver.
Safee’s taxes will be paid by the club, as well as any travelling expenses to Kuala Lumpur.
According to the contract, Safee will earn US$30,000 (RM90,000) a month, which will also make him one of the highest earners in the ISL.
Safee will also receive an additional ‘image rights’ package managed by the club for all commercial endorsements.
The contract also has a levy which could see the striker playing for a subsidiary club owned by Pelita Jaya Cronus, “depending on the various rules of the respective leagues.”
These clubs include Australia's Brisbane Roar, who will be playing in this year’s AFC Champions League, Belgium’s second division team CS Vise and SAD Uruguay.
All three clubs are owned by Cronus.
“My football has improved so much and even my peers have commented on it since I moved to Indonesia last February,” said Safee in Jakarta today.

In February 5th, 2011, Safee officially joined the Indonesian Super League club, Pelita Jaya. The transfer fees worth USD 30.000 and his current wages worth US $ 10,000 or RM30,360. Safee, in his contract, he got a condominium, driver and also his personal manager. These all benefits provided by the club. Safee have signed a 1-year contract with Pelita Jaya and with this sensational transfer, Safee was the first Malaysian footballer who will be playing in the Indonesian Super League. At the first moment, Safee will be wearing the number 10 on his shirt but because of the registration matters, he chose to wear a number 55. That significant and unique number representing his name, 5 for Safee and the another 5 is Sali. Safee made his unofficial debut against the Indonesian amateur club, Ragunan FC with 6-0 victory where Safee scored twice and 2 succesfull attempts. He got a really successful debut and impress the whole Indonesian with his skillfull touch and finishing. Safee made his official league debut againts the Sriwijaya FC. That match ended with a 1-0 victory and again, Safee have impress the crouds and fans with his only goal. With that victory, Safee help his team and club to win the first match after 5 match without a good result. What make it more special when Safee have chosen to be "man of the match" after the match has ended. Safee just can't stop scoring after he scored another 2 goals to beat the Senat FC with 2-1. What makes him as a prolific and to be respectful by the other opponents must be his beautiful finishing. Safee scored an astonishing acrobatic or well known as a bicycle kick against Persijap Jepara. Pelita Jaya won by 2-0 and make it as his fourth goals. Indonesia Super League Season 2010-11 ended with the PPK Jaya or Pelita Jaya FC in the 12th place. Pelita Jaya, will be staying at the league for the upcoming season. Overall, Safee have scored 7 goals in his 13 appearances during the first season playing in the other league. For the Malaysian, Safee achievements shows that the Malaysian also being able to impress the world and we should be proud with him.

Melaka TMFC
Safee wear the Melaka TMFC jersey in 2003 as Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Cup failed to qualify for the cup competition. He scored one goal in the match against Sarawak in their final group match. He returned to Kuala Lumpur following to the Melaka TMFC failure to qualify for the quarter-finals.
Kuala Lumpur FA
Safee was brought to FA of Kuala Lumpur by Igor Novak. Igor detected Safee talent and took him to play for the FA of Kuala Lumpur. He scored his first hat trick for Kuala Lumpur in the Malaysian Premier League II match against Perak TKN, ending with an easy win 6-2. He scored 11 goals in his first season to become the second highest scorer in the domestic league behind Azman Adnan. During the 2004 season, he only managed to score 2 goals in the league. In last season with Kuala Lumpur, he scored 7 goals in the league, 3 goals in the 2005 FA Cup. Safee helped the Kuala Lumpur had the Malaysian FA Cup, and he scored only a goal in the 2005 Malaysian Cup.

He then joined the FA of Sarawak in East Malaysia. He became a local scorers with 10 goals. His performance attracted the attention of fans and national coach. His ability is always compared with the late Mokhtar Dahari. At the end of the season, he scored a total of 19 goals in all competitions, making him as the top scorer for the state in the season of 2005/06. He then joined his hometown team the Selangor FA that he always wanted to play since he started his career.

With Selangor , Safee help the team achieve both the FA Cup and Malaysia Cup final . However , Selangor lost to Kedah FA in both finals by the same 3-2 score . He scored a total of 11 goals in his first season with the Selangor FA.
During 2008 the Sultan of Selangor Cup, Safee scored remarkable than Singapore favorites . In his second season with the Selangor, he scored 11 goals in 10 games amazing , but he suffered an injury that made him miss half of the season for 2007/08 . Despite having a poor performance in the 2009 season, he returned to become the second highest scorer in the 2010 season . He also scored the winning goal in a 2-1 win between Selangor and Negeri Sembilan FA in the Malaysian Charity Shield 2010.
After the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 and exceptional performance at an early stage in the 2011 Malaysian Super League , Safee agreed to join Indonesian Super League team , Pelita Jaya to get more experience . Safee last game with a 1-1 draw against Selangor and Kuala Lumpur FA . That was Safee last game before leaving to Karawang , Indonesia to join with Pelita Jaya .

Mohd Safee Mohd Sali commonly known as Safee Sali (born on 29 January 1984 in Kajang, Selangor) is a Malaysian footballer who is a Striker for Darul Takzim on loan from Arema Indonesia (ISL).
-Safee also represents the Malaysia national team at the international level and was a member of the Malaysian team who won the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup for the first time with Safee being the top scorer.
-Safee is also the first Malaysian to play at the Indonesian Super League with Pelita Jaya.
